As 2022 comes to a close, we’re welcoming 2023 with open arms, as well as some new and exciting changes at the Sun Rock Yoga studio! From a brand new space to new classes, new instructors, new yoga teacher training options, and new memberships — a lot is changing.
We’re here to give you the first peak at these exciting new changes. Keep reading to see how Sun Rock Yoga in St. George is diving head first into the new year!
Our Studio Is Moving!
Starting on December 1st, 2022, our classes will take place in our brand new studio. But don’t worry — we’re not going too far! When you come to class on Thursday, December 1st, you’ll find our studio just two doors over, in the corner of the plaza!
This beautiful new studio will still feel like your home away from home, complete with our welcoming Sun Rock Yoga CommUnity and the same incredible teachers and classes, while also offering significantly more space.
Inside, we’ll have ample yoga space as well as a full pilates studio, complete with reformers, towers, trapeze, and chairs! In January, there will be a new option for an open pilates gym pass. To earn this pass, each client will need to complete 30-50 hours of Pilates apparatus instruction. After those hours are completed, each client will need to have their pass signed off on in order to gain open Pilates gym access.
Stay tuned in on our progress by following us on Instagram. Over the next few months, we’ll be keeping you up-to-date on the progress in our pilates studio. We’ll also reveal the dates for our semi-private pilates studio classes, where clients hoping for open gym access can begin accruing hours.

Our Newest Classes
While we wait for our new Pilates space, some changes are already underway in the studio. You may have noticed that we’ve added a few more excellent classes to our studio lineup! Try one of our newest classes today.
Kundalini Yoga:
Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that involves chanting, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses. Its purpose is to generate positive energy and create greater inner awareness. This powerful yoga practice is designed to gently strip away the layers that veil your consciousness, allowing you to look within and awaken to your inner strength and beauty.
The practice of Kriyas and meditations in Kundalini Yoga are designed to raise complete bodily awareness in order to prepare and strengthen your body, calm your nervous system, and focus your mind.
The majority of the physical postures in this class will focus on navel activity, activity of the spine, selective pressurization of body points and meridians, and activation of the bandhas to help direct your energy and focus.
Yoga Foundation:
Yoga Foundation is not only the perfect class for beginners but is also fantastic for all yogis in general. If you are looking to improve your personal yoga practice, join us for Yoga Foundation! This is a slower-moving class designed to teach correct alignment and offer modifications for a strong personal yoga practice. Join us as we build each pose from the ground up, providing you with powerful instruction and confidence on your mat.
Find Your Joy Gentle Yoga:
This next new class is a gentle flow, heart-centered yoga practice where like-minded individuals can come together in a safe, non-competitive environment. Our yoga practice evolves as we do. The way we move, think, and feel shifts as we grow older and wiser. Our intent is to inspire a greater awareness, slow down, and move freely — to flow.
Heated Yoga:
Looking to get your sweat on? During our heated yoga classes, the studio is typically set to a temperature of around 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit, which can help to loosen your muscles and allow you to achieve deeper stretches. Additionally, the heat can help to detoxify your body and even improve your circulation!
Our New (To Us) Teachers
With our new classes, we also welcomed some new (to us) teachers!
Our incredible teachers Erin and Nan teach our Kundalini classes. Both have a rich background in yoga and are passionate about their practice!
Aly Hansen, who has been teaching yoga for over twenty years, has brought a unique style of yoga to our studio. In 2016, she created a style of practice called Find Your Joy Yoga. FYJY is a gentle, flow-based, heart-centered practice that is about coming to the mat as you are right now, at this moment, in any way you can, and finding peace, acceptance, and joy there.
300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Sun Rock Yoga now offers 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in addition to our 200 Hour training! This amazing curriculum will help you deepen your personal yoga practice and allow you to learn the skills needed to guide others.
We understand your passion for Yoga! Yoga is an amazing journey that continually offers learning and growth and inspires us to want to share it with all of the people in our lives.
With Sun Rock Yoga 300-Hour Teacher Training, you will have the opportunity to learn from three Lead Trainers. JoLynn Slade, Camille Zolman, and Ryan Bean all working together to offer you a rich learning experience. Their different backgrounds in training will give you full exposure to the many styles of Yoga you’re preparing to teach.
JoLynn’s training is based on Power Yoga and Pilates. Her focus is anatomy-based yoga and she specializes in teaching Power Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Beginner Yoga. Camille’s background is in Ashtanga Yoga. She has spent time in Bali learning from excellent instructors. Camille excels in teaching body awareness and practicing yoga safely in order to become stronger in each pose. Ryan received his yoga training in India. He not only has a great understanding of Asana but also of yoga philosophy and history. Ryan is also trained in Budokon Yoga, Mobility training, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Kids Yoga!
Being able to learn from each of these instructors will give you a broad understanding of Yoga and help you to decide the style you prefer to teach. You will primarily learn the style of Power Yoga and Vinyasa during this training. The 200-hour or 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification is a great beginning to your journey as a Yoga Instructor!
