Reformer Pilates

The Pilates Reformer is a machine made up of pulleys, straps, and springs to add resistance to each exercise and helps you to build greater strength. The resistance you feel from working on the Reformer gives you support and feedback to help you learn each exercise with precision.  You are able to choose the number of springs and resistance level for your personal fitness level so you can progress at your own pace. 
 
Pilates specifically focuses on strengthening the core, improving mobility of the spine, and teaching you how to move through each exercise with intention.  Pilates is a full body workout but with the focus of every movement coming from a strong core you will learn better body awareness and functionality for your every day life.
 
Reformer Pilates can be more challenging than mat Pilates because of the higher levels of resistance. However, the adjustable spring tension and other features of the reformer make it very adaptable for different fitness levels, including beginners, pregnant women, and people with injuries. Reformer Pilates can help to lengthen the spine, joints, and muscles, which can lead to greater flexibility, strength, balance, and stamina.
 
At Sun Rock we have offer a semi-private class. We have 4 Reformers in the studio which allows the teacher to give every student personalized attention! Remember to book your class early and reserve your Reformer!
